In Andhra Pradesh, all the four Congress and two Telugu Desam candidates to the Rajya Sabha have ensured unopposed election as only six nominations were filed for the equal number of vacancies making their election certain. <br/> <br/>Congress candidates Union Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh, V Hanumantha Rao, JD Seelam and N. Janardhana Reddy and two Telugu Desam nominees, Y.S. Chowdary and G Sudha Rani filed their papers before Legislature Secretary S Rajasadaram when the deadline for filing nominations concluded last evening. They will be formally declared elected on 7th of this month if their papers found in order. Though the Congress party has only 156 MLAs whereas it required 164 votes to get its candidates elected on the basis of preferential votes, it has got the support of 16-member Praja Rajyam Party, besides the 7-member MIM and three Independents. <br/>
