The Congress Ministers from Telangana in Andhra Pradesh on Monday said they will not take back their resignation until the party high command sets a time frame for the formation of separate Telangana state.After a meeting with Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily and senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel, Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Minister J Krishna Rao said that the ministers have put before the party leaders their views on the issue and have been given a patient hearing.He said, the ministers also gave details of the agitation in the Telangana region and the government has to clear the people's doubts in this regard.Earlier in the day, the ministers met Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy, who also hails from Telangana, and discussed the latest situation.In a related development, the Telegu Desam Party, TDP has demanded that Congress MPs hailing from Telangana region quit their posts immediately to exert pressure on its high command on the creation of a separate state.Talking to reporters at the end of the meeting of TDP leaders from Telangana in Hyderabad, Party Politburo member N. J. Reddy said, all the MLAs who have already submitted their resignations will meet Assembly Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy and press for their acceptance. The TDP extended its support to the December 30 Telangana bandh call given by the Political Joint Action Committee. The Telangana leaders have informed party chief N Chandrababu Naidu of their decision and promised to do everything in a totally peaceful manner.In Andhra Pradesh, protest demonstrations have continued today in support of statehood for Telangana even as tension prevailed on the Osmania University Campus in Hyderabad. Tension gripped the University campus after the police who have forcibly shifted fasting students last night to hospital, prevented few more students when they tried to start fast unto death this morning. On the other hand, the protest demonstrations continued in support of bifurcation of the state. In response to the call given by the Telangana Joint Action Committee, TRS activists and supporters of separate Telangana have held awareness programmes at villages and advocates and employees have boycotted duties in many districts of the region. On the other hand, the Director General of Police Girish Kumar said the police would act firm while dealing agitations both in favour of Telangana and Unified Andhra. Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, he warned off stern action against the agitators who resort to violence. Referring to the proposed Bandh called by the Telangana JAC on Wednesday, he said forcible closure of shops and business entities would not be tolerated.
