Andhra Cong. ministers urge the party High Command to set a time frame for formation of Telengana

The Congress Ministers from Telangana in Andhra Pradesh on Monday said they will not take back their resignation until the party high command sets a time frame for the formation of separate Telangana state. After a meeting with Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily and senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel, Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Minister J Krishna Rao said that the ministers have put before the party leaders their views on the issue and have been given a patient hearing. He said, the ministers also gave details of the agitation in the Telangana region and the government has to clear the people's doubts in this regard. Earlier in the day, the ministers met Union Minister S Jaipal Reddy, who also hails from Telangana, and discussed the latest situation. In a related development, the Telegu Desam Party, TDP has demanded that Congress MPs hailing from Telangana region quit their posts immediately to exert pressure on its high command on the creation of a separate state. Talking to reporters at the end of the meeting of TDP leaders from Telangana in Hyderabad, Party Politburo member N. J. Reddy said, all the MLAs who have already submitted their resignations will meet Assembly Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy and press for their acceptance. The TDP extended its support to the December 30 Telangana bandh call given by the Political Joint Action Committee. The Telangana leaders have informed party chief N Chandrababu Naidu of their decision and promised to do everything in a totally peaceful manner.
