The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah today resigned from the post. Mr Rosaiah announced his decision to resign in a press conference in Hyderabad this afternoon. He later submitted his resignation to the Governor, E.S.L. Narasimhan. Speaking at the press conference, Rosaiah said, the decision has come in view of his advancing age and work pressure. Earlier, Mr. Rosaiah has called an emergency Congress Legislature Party meeting this evening. Senior leaders of Congress Mr Pranab Mukherjee and and Mr Veerappa Moily, who is also the AICC General Secretary in charge of the State Affairs, are reaching Hyderabad this evening to take part in the meeting.
