In Andhra Pradesh, following the resignation of Chief Minister K Rosaiah, an emergency meeting of the Congress Legislature Party has begun in Hyderabad this evening. Tight security arrangements have been made at the Assembly Committee hall where most of Congress MLA are present in the meeting. Congress Party senior leaders Pranab Mukherjee, Gulam Nabi Azad, A K Antony and AICC general Secretary in Charge of state Affairs M Veerappa Moily are also present. They reached Begumpet airport by a special flight. During the day, congress leaders from Telangana and from other regions of the state held hectic parleys separately. The parley began soon after Chief Minister Rosaiah announced his resignation at a press conference citing advancing age and work pressure as reasons. State Governor E S L Narasimhan has accepted the resignation and asked him to continue in the office till a new leader appointed. Names of Speaker N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Minister and Leader of Assembly J Geeta Reddy and Central Ministers Jaipal Reddy and Pallam Raju are doing the rounds for the new leader of CLP.Opposition Telugu Desam Party leader N Janardhan Reddy said though it is an internal matter of Congress, a person who could develop the state should be made as new chief Minister.
