Andhra Pradesh, Chhatisgarh and Orissa have sought more funds from the central government for implementing the Right to Education (RTE) Act.<br/> <br/>The ministers from these states made this demand at a meeting with Human Resource Development Minister Mr. Kapil Sibal in New Delhi on Thursday.<br/> <br/>Their demand comes after Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal also sought increased allocations for implementing the act. <br/> <br/>According to an official press release Mr. Sibal asked the states to assess infrastructural gaps in existing schools, undertake mapping for establishment of neighbourhood schools and also establish school management committees. The recruitment of teachers and formulation of syllabus was also taken up in the meeting. <br/> <br/>AIR correspondent reports that Orissa has about 24 percent posts of teachers vacant, Chhatisgarh nearly 21 percent and Andhra Pradesh 16 percent posts.<br/>
