In Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy today constituted his cabinet with 39 ministers.The Ministers were sworn in this morning at a ceremonial function held at the lawns of Rajabhavan in Hyderabad. Governor E S L Narasimhan administered the oath of office and secrecy to the ministers in the presence of Chief Minister, former Chief minister K Rosaiah and other dignitaries.Along with 28 members of the previous cabinet, 11 new leaders have been inducted into the new Council of Ministers. Five members, most of them were close associates of Jaganmohan Reddy, who resigned from Kadapa Lok sabha seat, were dropped while his uncle Y S Vivekananda Reddy got a berth in the cabinet.Out of the total 39 ministers, members from Telangana Region got major share with 16, while coastal region ensured 15 and Rayalaseema 8. Lakshmi reports from Hyderabad that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has begun his innings while striking a balance providing due share to different sections, regions and districts of the state in his newly constituted cabinet. On the lines of expectations, the Chief Minister dropped 5 members, most of them were close aids of Jaganmohan Reddy who resigned his Kadapa Lok Sabha seat two days ago. While continuing the rest of the previous cabinet, he inducted 11 more members including 8 first timers as ministers. The prominent among the inductions were Y S Vivekananda Reddy brother of late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, former Home Minister K Jana Reddy and DL Ravindra Reddy from Kadapa district in the wake of fresh political developments in the state. In the composition of the cabinet the Telangana region got the highest 16 berths while Coastal region obtained 15 and Rayalaseem 8. On the other hand, due to the balancing exercise for opportunity to different sections of the society, BCs got 10 posts while SCs got 6, STs 2 Minorities-one and others 17. While Guntur district bags the highest 4 berths, Adilabad district was not represented in the cabinet. Though phase-wise induction of the ministers was considered at a point of time in the wake of fresh political developments, the Chief Minister has finally opted for having a full-fledged team of Ministers so that he could start his innings in right earnest.
