Andhra Assembly session begins amidst tight security

The winter session of Andhra Pradesh state Legislative Assembly and Council has begun today amidst tight security. Both the Assembly and the Council have paid rich tributes to the former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy who died in helicopter crash on 2nd September. Separate condolence motions have been passed unanimously in both the houses. <br/>Moving the motion in Assembly, Chief Minister K Rosaiah said the people of the state have lost a great leader. The services rendered by Rajasekhara Reddy for the welfare of the poor have been recalled on the occasion. Congress party floor leader in Assembly Geetha Reddy, opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu, Ministers and floor leaders were among them who spoke on the occasion. TRS members tried in vain to raise the Telangana issue before taking up of the condolence motion.<br/>
