Andhra Pradesh Assembly to take up the No-Confidence motion against the State Government for discussion this morning on the last day of its winter session. Opposition Leader Chandrababu Naidu has proposed the no-trust motion against the government alleging that it has failed in resolving the problems of farmers. The TDP leader moved the motion two days ago and the Business Advisory Committee has decided to hold a 10-hour long discussion and take up voting if necessary. Meanwhile, both the ruling and opposition parties have involved in wide consultations to garner support to achieve the simple majority on the floor of the house today. The Andhra Pradesh Assembly has taken up a No-trust motion for discussion after a gap of more than three years. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who has been elected by the Congress Legislature Party formally as its leader earlier, is now gearing up to prove his majority for the first time on the floor of the house. The ruling Congress party has been enjoying more than simple majority officially and technically as it has 153 members in the 287 member-Assembly excluding 7 vacancies. The support of 144 members will be sufficient to achieve the magic figure for the ruling party. In addition, it has the support of its allies including 18 member-Praja Rajyam and 7- member MIM which apparently gives comfortable position. At the same time, the Opposition TDP could ensure the support of 13-member Telangana Rastra Samiti, 4 member CPI, 2 member BJP and one each from YSR Congress, CPM and LokSatta parties. However, there is prevailed uncertainty about the numbers as some MLAs from the ruling party and PRP likely to violate the Whip in favour of the YSR Congress party and support the No trust motion. The political number-game is yet to be fully unfolded and it has to be revealed who enjoys whose support on the floor of the house today.
