Andhra Assembly adjourned without transacting any business

Andhra Pradesh Assembly has been adjourned without transacting any business on the first day of its winter session over withdrawal of cases against students registered during statehood agitations last year. Demanding the Government that it should make a statement immediately, Telangana Rastra Samithi and Majlis Ithehadul Muslimeen Members have disrupted the proceedings several times. Raising slogans, TRS and MIM members have trooped into well of the house. The opposition Telugu Desam, Praja Rajyam, CPI, CPM and BJP have suggested that the cases against students should be withdrawn immediately. MIM leader Akbaruddin has demanded that the cases registered against over 400 youths during the recent communal unrest and when Makka Masjid blast occurred in Hyderabad should also be withdrawn. Despite suspension of question hour, the House could not take up Farmers problems for discussion as decided earlier. Amidst disruptions, the house has been adjourned four times for a brief period and for the day on the final time.
