Andhra Assembly adjourned sine die

Andhra Assembly has been adjourned today a sine die amid unprecedented uproar even as the impasse continued following the resignation tendered by 138 MLAs. The house witnessed unprecedented uproar as MLAs belonging to Coastal and Rayalseema regions across the party line and those who belong to Telengana region raised slogan in favour of their stands.<br/><br/>Earlier, the House was adjourned for a brief period when members stormed the proceedings raising slogans in favour of unified states and formation of Teleganga state. State Legislative Minister Dhamana Prasad Rao moved the resolution under rule 16 suggesting a sine die keeping in view the impasse continuing over the MLA resignations. Speaker Kiran Kumar Reddy announced that the House has been adjourned sine die.<br/><br/>Meanwhile,Vijayavada MP, L. Rajagopal is taken into preventive custody at Shamshabad airport in Hyderabad this morning. He was on his way to Hyderabad to launch and indefinite fast in support of unified state. However, the Police had already stated on Sunday that Rajagopal was not given permission to launch the agitation. After taking custody, he was taken to a nearby Police station.<br/><br/>Eariler, on Sunday evening, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Rosaiah has held discussions to narrow down the differences of opinion among his cabinet members over Telangana issue . Chief Minister Rosaiah has asked both the groups not to take any hasty decision in the backdrop of present political crisis as no concrete step has been finalized so far on formation Telanagna state. After holding separate meetings, representatives of the Ministers from both the regions have called on the Chief Minister to explain their stands.<br/>While the Ministers from Coastal and Rayalaseema regions said there was no backtrack on their decision to resign in favour of unified state, Eleven Ministers and 10 MPs from Telangana rallied together for the first time and wrote a letter to Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi hailing the Center’s decision to initiate the process to carve out Telangana state.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, hectic parleys are underway at political and Government level to resolve the crisis.<br/><br/>Tension prevailed in Coastal and Rayalaseema regions as the protest demonstrations are continuing. In the wake of eruption of violence at some places, additional forces have been deployed in all the districts.
