<span style="color: #222222;">The Shipping Department of Andaman and Nicobar is in the process to send the stranded persons from Port Blair to Chennai. The Department has initiated a one-time sailing of its marine vehicles in between the islands.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">On the first day, ships have transported a total of 220 stranded persons including patients and students between various islands of South as well as North and Middle Andaman district. The sailing will be continued based on the request being received time to time.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, the essential supplies and water from various source at other islands are also being carried through these ships to met the demand and mitigate the shortage of water at Port Blair.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The proposed sailing between Chennai and Port Blair is scheduled for tomorrow depending upon the weather condition. Only those persons in distress as stipulated as per the Home Ministry guidelines and qualifying the criteria will be transported.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">So far the department has registered all the request from stranded persons in the islands for the scheduled sailing and an acknowledgment is being sent on their mobile phones.</span><br />
