<span style="color: #222222;">The Union Home Ministry's order to exempt fishing activities during lockdown is being implementing in the far flung Islands of  Andaman and Nicobar. AIR correspondent reports that following the MHA's order to exempt fishing during lockdown, the Fisheries department of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has started issuing permits to fishermen and transporters.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">According to the information received, 142 permits to fishermen and 85 permits to transporters have been issued so far. The Fisheries Department has established a control room in Port Blair to felicitate the fishermen and information regarding issuance of permits is being provided through SMS. It is well known that fishing is vital commercial activity in the A&N Islands to which livelihood of thousands of people depends upon.</span><br />''  <br />
