In Andaman and Nicobar islands, the ten day long Island Tourism festival got off to a colourful start.Lt. Governor Lt. General (Retd) Bhopinder Singh inaugurated the festival at Port Blair last night.Inaugurating the festival, the Lt Governor informed that the administration planned to make these islands as one of the best eco friendly tourism destinations of the world.He also released a documentary film ‘Runway on the Sea’ by film maker Naresh Chandralal.For the first time tourism development corporations from Delhi, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya and Karnataka are participating in the festival with their attractive tourism packages.The added attraction of the festival is a floating restaurant run by ANIIDCO every evening.This year, the festival will also be organized in Car Nicobar as CARNIC FESTIVAL to entertain the tribals from Nicobar group of islands. It will be inaugurated tomorrow.
