<span style="color: #222222;">The Andaman and Nicobar Command, the only joint tri-services operational Command of the country, is celebrating its 18th Raising Day today. The joint tri-services operational Command was created in 2001 to safeguard India's strategic interests in the region. </span><br />''<br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports that the Andaman and Nicobar Command is celebrating its 18th Raising Day today.As part of the celebrations, Commander-in-Chief of Andaman & Nicobar Command vice Admiral Bimal Verma reviewed the parade at INS Utkrosh and awarded Unit Citations to 15 Assam Regiment, Naval  shipyard and Indian Coast Guard ship Aruna Asaf Ali this morning. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In his address, the Commander-in-Chief outlined the operational readiness of the Command and brought out its implication on the security of the Islands.  He said the Command is playing a vital role in the economic development of the country apart from securing its territory.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Command is conducting a survey with the district administration in the uninhabited islands and will be completed December this year. An army detachment has been established in Landfall Island.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The CINCAN said the Command is doing regular exercises with the neighbouring countries as part of India's Act East Policy. </span><br />
