Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Ananth Kumar today inaugurated orientation programme in New Delhi for launching of one thousand Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras.<br/><br/>The workshop was targeted to educate and channelize youth to synergize their efforts for taking ahead the mission to open three thousand kendras by March this year. Representatives from 24 States and 106 districts from across the country attended the programme. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kumar emphasized on the need to open more Janaushadhi Kendras, for authentic, available and affordable medicine. The Minister said, only 40 per cent of the population is able to avail branded medicines whereas the remaining 60 per cent are deprived of it due to poverty and other reasons. He said, these Janaushadhi Kendras will provide affordable quality medicine to all citizens.
