Anand suffers shock defeat in zurich chess challenge

Former world champion Viswanathan Anand has suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura of United States in the Zurich Chess Challenge tournament. The defeat came in the second round of the event which is being held in Zurich. Having lost to Levon Aronian of Armenia in the firstround, Anand now finds himself at the last spot in the highest category event. In the six-player round-robin tournament, World champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway, Aronian and Nakamura share the lead on three points. Under the special scoring system, a player gets two points for a win in Classical, and one in the rapid format. Three rounds in Classical and five rounds in rapid chess still remain in the tournament.
