Anand Sharma to lead high-level delegation to Lanka from Aug 3-5

Union Minister for Commerce, Industry & Textiles Anand Sharma will lead a high-level ministerial delegation to Sri Lanka from 3rd to 5th August . The aim of the visit is to double the bilateral trade between India and the island nation from current 4.5 billion dollar to 9 billion dollars by 2017. An official statement said that the visit coincides with the 'India Show' organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and the High Commission of India in Colombo.

Mr Sharma's visit to the Island Nation assumes greatersignificance in the context of enhanced economic and strategic cooperation between the two nations.
