The Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Anand Sharma on Monday met Members of Parliament from the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh in New Delhi on the issue of lifting ban on cotton export.

According to an official release, Mr Sharma apprised them of the rational of various decisions taken regarding the issues of cotton sector. He also answered the queries raised by MPs on the issues related to this sector. Minister of State for Textiles, Mrs. Panabaka Lakshmi was also present in the meeting.
