Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Mr Anand Sharma today concurred with the CII suggestion to have a National Services Competitive Council on the lines of National Manufacturing Competitive Council. Mr Sharma expressed this while inaugurating the Services Conclave jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and CII in New Delhi. The Minister also agreed upon a joint task force for the Services Sector to be set up to provide an institutional framework. The proposed body will have representatives of the Government, industry and other stakeholders. He also said industrial sector needs to be strengthened in order to boost the service sector, as it is the base of services.
