World Champion Viswanathan Anand shares a joint second place along with Luke McShane after the final seventh round of the London Chess Classic which concluded on Wednesday night. Anand drew with Kramnik in his last encounter. Magnus Carlsen of Sweden defeated Nigel Short to score his fourth victory of the event and surge to a clear first position with a tally of 13 points. Anand and McShane tallied 11 points each while Vladimir Kramnik and Nakamura scored 10 points each. The 20-year-old Magnus incidentally had also won the first edition last year. Anand remained unbeaten in this eight player Round robin event, scoring two victories and five draws.
