<span style="color: #222222;">First two cases of Omicron, the new variant of COVID -19, reported in Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. Both the passengers arrived from the United States to port Blair via Delhi recently and are under quarantine. Genome sequencing report confirmed the presence of Omicron variant. The Health Department appealed to be aware and strictly follow COVID protocols. Public advised to avoid unnecessary traveling. After detection of Omicron, surveillance and testing will be enhanced for inter islands and mainland passengers. </span><br />
