An All Party Meeting will be held in New Delhi today to discuss the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. The government hopes to evolve a consensus on steps to find a lasting solution to the problem being faced by the state. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Defence Minister A.K Antony said that important decisions have to be taken after carefully assessing all aspects. He said, final call on the issues involved should be taken only after taking into confidence major political parties. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambica Soni expressd hope that all political parties will try to find a solution to the issue. BJP Spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain said that the party is opposed to dilution in the Armed Forces Special Powers Act and the party will put forward its point of view at the meeting. The National Conference has decided to send a five-member delegation headed by party President Farooq Abdullah to attend the meet. PDP has also decided to participate in the meeting. Meanwhile, curfew continues in all towns including Srinagar city in the Kashmir valley. The situation is by and large calm in the valley. There were some incidents of stone pelting and clashes in Baramulla, Srinagar and Chadoora on Tuesday.
