AN-32 courier service for Kargil will resume its services from December 6

In Jammu and Kashmir, the AN-32 courier service for Kargil (Ladakh region) will resume its services from December 6 to facilitate the movement of people of the mountainous district during the winter months. The decision to this effect was taken at a high level meeting in Jammu which was chaired by Minister for Transport and CA&PD, Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon. It was decided that Kargil courier service will operate between Srinagar-Kargil on every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday while between Kargil- Jammu on every Tuesday as per the past practice. The meeting further decided that passengers from Srinagar should be dropped at Leh in case of bad weather at Kargil, besides in case of cancellation of any flight on any day, additional flight will be operated next day, the meeting decided.Measures taken for providing helicopter service to cut-off areas like Karnah, Gurez, Navpachi, Zanskar, Drass, Kishtwar, Inshan, Dachhen etc were also discussed.
