Amruta Fadnavis sends legal notice to Nawab Malik for defamatory tweets

Amruta Fadnavis, wife of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has sent a legal notice to State Minorities Affairs Minister Nawab Malik for tarnishing her and her family's image through his allegedly defamatory tweets.
''
''She has asked Mr. Malik to either his tweets within 48 hours or issue an unconditional apology, failing which legal action will be initiated. Mr. Malik had recently tweeted pictures of Amruta Fadnavis with alleged drug peddler Jaideep Rana.
''
''The notice said that the allegations are made to gain cheap political mileage and with the sole intention to divert the attention of the public from the misrule and failure of the incumbent government and the actions taken by central agencies against the drug menace. It adds that the picture was taken four years back at an event organised by a social group called River March. In the notice, Ms. Fadnavis has clarified that neither she nor any of her family members have any association with Jaideep Rana.
''
''In this political slugfest, Mr. Malik's son-in-law Sameer Khan had also sent a five crore defamation notice to Mr Devendra Fadnavis for levelling baseless allegations against him. In the notice, Sameer Khan's lawyer has said that his client was falsely implicated in a case lodged by the Narcotics Control Bureau. It added that Khan was granted bail after eight months due to lack of evidence.
