In an endeavor to bring Amritsar on the global map for its well known rich Punjabi culture, Amritsar Heritage Festival’ got off to colorful starts on Friday as Virasat Procession was carried out with Indian women carrying lights took out a ‘jago’ walk with traditional funfair.<br/><br/>The four days long Amritsar Heritage Festival opens with an inaugural procession of dancers – Bhangra, Giddha, Gatka – followed by caparisoned horses and elephants today.<br/><br/>The state government with the supoort of Punjab kala Parishad and Visrsa Vihar has planned a rich musical treat. The Puppetry and painting workshops, seminars, music and dance recitals were also held. Performances by internationally renowned classical dancer Sr. Harish Gangaani, an d the Flute palayer Baba Kamshi Nath Almast will added luster to the festival.<br/><br/>Pakistani Sufi singers, including sufiana misic Saida Beghum & Akhatar Ali and Shabad Kirtan artistes will enthralls the audience during the six-day festival.<br/><br/>A book exhibition show and stalls of Amritsari Cuisine and carft mela will also be help in the four days festival at Amritsar.
