Amravati Express derails near Kalyan; No casualty

The engine and a passenger-cum-guard coach of the Mumbai-bound Amravati Express derailed while entering the suburban Kalyan station this morning but no one was hurt. A Central Railway spokesperson said in Mumbai that the incident has disrupted traffic on the Nashik-Igatpuri-Kalyan section of the Central Railway.

A railway statement said that engine and one SLR (general second class cum Guard’s Van) of 12112 Amravati-Mumbai Express derailed while entering platform no.4 at Kalyan at 04:50 AM today. Efforts to restore traffic are in full swing and many trains have been short-terminated, diverted and cancelled due to the derailment.
