In Tamil Nadu, AIADMK chief Jayalalitha is to stake claim to form government tomorrow. Jayalalithaa says details on her swearing-in ceremony will be announced tomorrow. The newly elected MLAs of the AIADMK will be meeting tomorrow to elect their leader at the party headquarters in Chennai. With DMK pushed down to the third position, the second largest party and AIADMK's main ally DMDK will be the main opposition. DMDK leader Vijaykant will be the leader of opposition. This was decided at the party meeting held in Chennai today. The party has won 33 seats. AIR correspondent reports that the residence of AIADMK Chief Jayalalithaa is streaming with visitors. National leaders cutting across party lines including UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi have greeted Jayalalithaa on her victory. Tamilnadu Sate Congress President K. V Thangabalu tendered his resignation to Party chief today. Speaking to media persons in Chennai Thangabalu said he has accepted his party’s defeat. He said that he has decided to resign from the party president post because of poor performance of congress party in the Assembly elections.The congress which contested in 63 seats was able to mange only Five seats.
