Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan successfully underwent abdominal surgery at a suburban hospital in Mumbai yesterday. Hospital spokesperson told reporters that there are no complications and all vital parameters of Amitabh Bachchan are normal.

His son Abhishek Bachchan said the operation which lasted for 2 to 3 hours was successful. He said that it was a minor surgery and Mr Bachchan will be discharged in two to three days.

The 69-year-old actor has a history of stomach ailments since his intestinal injury in 1982 suffered during the shooting of one of his hit films Coolie.
