BJP President Amit Shah has called a meeting of Chief Ministers of party-ruled states in New Delhi on 27th of this month to discuss the strategy on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill. <br/><br/>During the meeting, Mr. Shah will urge the Chief Ministers to ensure the passage of the 122nd Constitution Amendment Bill at the earliest in the state assemblies which will pave the way for the rollout of GST. The issue related to implementation of Central schemes among others is also expected to come up for discussion in the day-long meeting. <br/><br/>BJP has its governments in nine states including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana and it is ruling partners in four states including Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. The Constitution Amendment Bill needs to be ratified by at least half of the state assemblies. <br/><br/>Mr. Shah has also called the meeting of BJP state core groups on 23rd of August.
