<span style="color: #222222;">In Kerala as COVID cases continue to surge, the State government has imposed more restrictions. AIR Thirivananthapuram Correspondent reports that a High level meeting headed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took the decision in this regard today.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">On Saturdays and Sundays only essential services will be permitted. Coming Saturday is declared a holiday in the State. 50 per cent attendance  in govt offices and others to work from home on rotation basis. Similar working pattern to be followed in the private sector too. Educational institutions are directed to conduct all classes online. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, Chief Minister said that additional 50 lakh vaccine doses are requested from the Centre immediately. The COVID treatment facilities are being enhanced across the State and vaccination will be done through online registration to avoid crowding in vaccine centres.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, Kerala recorded its highest single-day surge today with 22,414 new COVID cases. Test positivity rate is at alarming 18.41%.Twenty two more deaths were confirmed due to COVID today taking the death toll to 5000.
