An American couple who kidnapped a school girl and held her captive for two decades has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Jaycee Dugard was abducted from outside her home in California in 1991 by Philip and Nancy Garido and held in a compound at the bottom of their garden. She was repeatedly raped and gave birth to two children, the first when she was 14.
