An American Airlines plane overshot the runway on landing at an airport in the Jamaican capital Kingston, in heavy rain today. Flight AA 331 from Miami, with about 150 people on board, is reported to have broken apart after landing at Norman Manley International Airport. Jamaican information Minister Daryl Vaz said at least 40 people were injured. The plane came to rest near the beach.Passengers were visibly shaken by the incident and some had broken bones or cuts. The injured have been taken to hospital.
