An American Airlines flight carrying 231 passengers and 15 crew members made an emergency landing soon after the aircraft took off from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi around midnight last night. A senior Delhi International Airport Limited official said that all 231 passengers are safe. The aircraft took off at 12.25 AM and landed back at 12.47 AM. American Airlines, which operates daily-direct flights between New Delhi and Chicago, said that the flight commander requested to make an emergency landing due to a technical snag in one of the engines.
