The government today indicated that some amendments to the labour laws will be brought in to protect the interests of daily wagers and contract workers in the country.
Replying to supplementaries in the Lok Sabha, Minister for Labour and Employment Mallikarjun Kharge pointed out that some states are not sensitive to the problems faced by daily wages and contract workers.
He said the government is taking several measures to ameliorate the conditions of daily wage earners and contract workers. He said, in case of non-payment of wages fixed by the authorities, complaints can be made to the Chief Labour Commissioner.
