In Assam, thousands of Sadhus and Sanyasins from home and abroad have congregated at the famous Shaktipeeth- Kamakhya Dham in Guwahati for the annual Ambubashi mela beginning on Wednesday. According to temple authorities, the door of the temple will remain close for the visitors for three days from 23rd to 25th of this month due to the Mela. Security arrangements have been tightened in and around the temple complex at Neelachal Hills for smooth conduct of the Ambubashi Mela. 64 close-circuit cameras have been installed in the corridors of the temple to monitor the movement of visitors and check activities of anti-social elements. The Kamrup Metro district authorities have set up a temporary hospital with all expert treatment facilities in the temple complex especially for the visitors. Food inspectors have also been deployed to determine the quality of foods provided to the devotees by different voluntary organizations. A special cleanliness drive has been launched by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation authority in and around the temple to maintain hygienic condition during the Mela days.
