In Meghalaya, the Meghalaya United Alliance MUA government is implementing an ambitious socio economic development program to assist the small and marginal farmers in the state. <br/><br/>Talking to media person in Shillong today the state chief minister said a sum of 5000 rupees would be provided to those small and marginal farmers as seed money.<br/><br/>Dr Mukul Sangma said under the program as many as 30,000 families have been targeted to be involved in the program.<br/><br/>He said his government gives emphasis on pisciculture and government wants to be increasing the fish cultivation in the state. Dr Sangma said the state government plans to provide assistance over 8000 fish farmers during the current financial year.<br/><br/>Dr. Sangma said his government is also giving importance for integrated management of the water bodies in the state which could add economic earning in the hands of people in state.
