The Information and Broadcasting Minister Mrs Ambika Soni today justified the TRAI's recommendation to cap the duration of advertisements on television at 12 minutes per clock hour.

Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Mrs Soni said the government is aware of the concern of the broadcasters in this regard.

She said her ministry will convene a meeting as soon as the new Chairman of the TRAI will assume charge.
