Amarnath Yatra: Rescue teams to be deployed along Jammu-Srinagar NH to help pilgrims

<span style="color: #222222;">Rescue teams will be deployed along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH44) to provide help to the pilgrims during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. AIR correspondent reports that District Superintendent of Police, Ramban Mohita Sharma took a security review meeting in which it was decided that rescue teams will be deployed to provide help to the pilgrims on the national highway, especially in slide-prone areas during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. Besides, sufficient manpower will be deployed in advance so that the base camps and routes of the Yatra are secured and checked at the earliest.<br />''<br />''Worth to mention, the 43-day long Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to start on 30th of June from the twin routes – traditional 48-km route from Nunwan in Pahalgam and 14-km shorter route from Baltal in Ganderbal district after a hiatus of two years owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ramban SP called for an effective mechanism and planning for smooth and peaceful conduct of the Yatra and asked the officers to focus on sensitive locations and base camps while putting in place security arrangements.</span><br />
