In Jammu & Kashmir, over 6 thousand yatris paid obeisance at the Holy Cave on the 21st day of the ongoing Yatra today.<br/><br/>Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) sources said cumulatively, about 02 Lakh 22 thousand 600 Yatris had darshan of ice lingam till today evening since the beginning of the pilgrimage on June 29. <br/><br/>Earlier, a fresh batch of about 1,782 pilgrims left Jammu base Camp early morning for the Kashmir Valley today.<br/><br/>The death toll of pilgrims due to natural causes, accidents and the attack on July 10 this year has risen to 48.<br/><br/>Till July 18, the SASB has incurred more than Rupees 14 Lac 66 thousand on account of transportation costs for sending mortal remains and injured to their native places while Rupees 01 Crore 34 Lacs and 75 thousand have been incurred towards payment of ex-gratia relief.<br/><br/>The 40 day annual Amarnath Yatra is in progress from both Baltal route in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district and Pahalgam route in south Kashmir's Anantnag district.<br/><br/>The Yatra will conclude on 7th August, the Shrawan Purnima day coinciding with Raksha Bandhan festival.<br/><br/>The entire security apparatus has been put on high alert after the attack on Amarnath yatris on July 10. Necessary instructions have been issued to strengthen Road Opening Party (ROP) network till late hours on Yatra route in Kashmir.<br/><br/>A multi-layered security arrangement is already in place that is manned by the Army, CRPF, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), BSF and the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
