In Kashmir valley, Joint council of Islamic Scholars and Muslim Personal Law Board has urged people to extend full support and protection to pilgrims attending annual amarnath yatra as per the ethos of kashmiriat and islam. In a joint meeting presided over by Grand Mufti Bashirudin Ahmad in Srinagar today, the two prominant religious bodies have urged people not to do anything that could cause any feeling of insecurity among the yatris. Meanwhile, the two month long annual Amarnath yatra is going-on smoothly on both the track Baltal and Pahalgam. To ensure safety of yatris, authorities have deployed many security personnel all along the routes leading to holy cave.
