Amarnath Yatra from Jammu base camp suspended due to heavy rains

In the wake of the blockades at the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, following heavy rains this morning, the Amarnath Yatra from Jammu base camp was suspended today. According to official sources, authorities decided to suspend the pilgrimage due landslides triggered by rains at various places along the highway.<br/><br/>This is the second time when ongoing Amarnath yatra has been suspended from Jammu base camp and no batch of pilgrims has been allowed to move towards Srinagar. <br/><br/>The men and machines of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) are working to clear the debris from the highway to restore the normal traffic along NH -1A.' <br/>Earlier yatra was suspended for two days due to tension in valley after the elimination of most wanted Hizb Commnader Burhan Wani during an encounter on July 8. <br/>
