Traditional rituals were performed in the holy Amarnath cave shrine when Chhari Mubarak, the silver mace of Lord Shiva was taken inside, marking the end of the annual 2012-pilgrimage, which commenced on June 25.

Covering a distance of about 6 km on foot from from Panjterni,the Chhari Mubarak this morning reached the holy cave which is 13,500 feet above sea level .
More than six lakh pilgrims had darshan of the self-made ice-Shivlingam inside the cave shrine during the pilgrimage.

About 120 yatris lost their lives due to illness and road accidents during the pilgrimage this year.
Chhari-Mubarak will return to its Shri Amareshwar temple at Akhara building abode at Srinagar.
