In Jammu and Kashmir, clashes between ponywallas and community kitchen operators near Baltal Base camp forced suspension of the Amarnath Yatra.
At least 37 persons, including few security force personnel were injured during the clashes that took place at Dumail near Baltal area Friday.
Governor NN Vohra and State government have appealed to both parties to maintain peace for smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
Officials said, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah deputed senior officials in the area and the situation is under control.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to the Chief Minister over phone about the violence and asked him to take all necessary steps to bring the situation under control.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh met Rajnath Singh and expressed concerns over the incident.
Jitendra Singh was accompanied by Avinash Khanna, MP.
