A day after his resignation from all party posts was accepted, Amar Singh on Monday said he will be in Samajwadi Party till he is booted out of it. He also announced a series of programmes that appeared to test political waters. Addressing a press conference in the capital alongwith actor Sanjay Dutt , Mr Singh said, he will stick to the vow not to speak against SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and other top leaders. Asked whether he is hinting at the party being a family affair of Mulayam Singh Yadav, he said, this is a popular perception. In apparent testing of waters, Amar Singh said he would meet true socialists like Raghu Thakur, a Madhya Pradesh leader, and participate in various programmes in Rampur, Mathura and Ghazipur.

Earlier, Samajwadi Party on Monday ruled out reconsidering its decision on accepting the resignation of Amar Singh from all party posts. Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav told reporters in Lucknow that he looks at the future and not into the past. Mr. Yadav had on Sunday accepted the resignation of his close confidante from all party posts including that of general secretary less than two weeks after he quit. The SP chief said his party will launch a massive movement against the Centre and the state government on the issue of price hike and corruption. On the possibility of Azam Khan's re-entry into the SP fold, Mr. Yadav said he will discuss these issues when they come up.
