US President Barack Obama says al-Qaeda has been decapitated and will be defeated ultimately. He was speaking to an audience of cheering soldiers at a military base in Kentucky shortly after a private ceremony, in which he decorated members of the special forces team that killed the head of al-Qaeda, Osama bin-Laden.
