In Uttar Pradesh Alok Tiwari of Samajwadi Party was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha. The bye election for the lone seat was necessitated due to the death of Brij Bhushan Tiwari. This was announced by the Returning Officer and Principal Secretary of U.P Vidhan Sabha Pradeep Dubey in Lucknow today. Alok Tiwari is the son of late Brij Bhushan Tiwari.
