Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has strongly rebutted the claims of Congress Party that Congress ruled States have been discriminated against by the Centre. In a tweet, Mr Jaitley said, total tax devolution to the nine Congress ruled States during thirteenth finance commission from 2010 to 2015 was more than Rs 1.94 lakh crore while in the 14th Finance Commission for 2015 to 2020 it is more than Rs 5.98 lakh crore. He said the nine states have received more than Rs 82,000 crore in the last year of the UPA Government as against more than Rs 1.47 lakh crore in the first year of NDA government. The Minister said, in addition, some of the states may also receive an amount out of Rs 20,000 crore allotted to the NITI Aayog and Rs 15,000 crore surplus available with the revenue. He said, further amounts would also be allotted to the States for Centrally supported projects of the Railways and the National Highways.
