Allahabad University remains peaceful today after violence by agitating students opposing University’s order for eviction from hostels. The University is closed till Sunday. A delegation of university students handed over a memorandum today to district magistrate addressed to president of India demanding removal of vice -chancellor. The senior superintendent of police said that FIRs have been lodged against more than three hundred unnamed persons. He said that with help of available video footage police is trying to identify miscreants involved in yesterday’s violence. A university spokesperson told AIR Allahabad correspondent that the University has reassured the students that it will provide all assistance to legitimate occupants of hostels .
