Allahabad High Court defers petition on land acquisition

In Uttar Pradesh, the petition related to land acquisition filed by the farmers from Badalpur village, has been deferred till 17th August by the Allahabad High Court today. The Bench comprising Justice Amitabh Lala and justice A K Srivastava said that like all other petitions, these petitions would also be put before the larger Bench for the next hearing. The Badalpur village is also native place of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati and about 50 farmers have filed petitions and challenged the acquisition proceedings on the ground that entire acquisition proceeding is one-sided exercise of power by authorities and the state government .The Allahabad High Court on Tuesday had referred the Land acquisition cases of Greater Noida and Noida to a larger Bench of the High Court. After clubbing about 200 petitions from at least 13 villages of these areas, the Court has fixed 17th August for the next hearing on these petitions.
